Daily Pep Talk is usually correct
It's fine. Forget it.
Pep talk: Whatever you did, it can't be that bad or wrong. I'm sure everyone else was too busy thinking of their own drama to even notice your mistake. Your secret is safe, it's not a big deal, and anyway it's been over for, like, 27 hours by now. Moving on.
Today remind yourself: It's fine. Forget it
Any minute now.
Pep talk: Be patient. No really. Chill the fuck out. Everything that is meant to happen will. It just takes time. You’re a speed demon and the universe needs a second to catch up with you but, when it does, you’ll get everything you need.
Today remind yourself: Any minute now
Your job is not your life. (this one is especially hard for me to remember)
Pep talk: Let’s talk worst case scenarios, shall we? Let’s say you really fuck up and get fired, what then? You pack your shit and get out of there, that’s what. Then you hold your head high and remember that that job didn’t define you. Then you forgive yourself for your mistakes and you try to improve. Then you hunt for a new job, one that makes you happy. Then you keep on living your fabulous life. You may not love any job you ever have, but you have so much going for you that a shitty gig can’t hold you back. You are fantastic and don’t you forget it.
Today remind yourself: My job is not my life.

New friends
Isn't it just delightful when you meet someone new and you have lots in common and conversation comes easily? I'm still kinda high from the meeting I had this week with a new acquaintance. Lately I've been fortunate to have met all kinds of fun new people, and continue to be grateful for my twitter friends, both those I have met and those I only know from online who I haven't (only a matter of time really).
This week's meeting started as a meshing of minds about coffee culture in RVA. I couldn't quiiite tell from the invitation if it the sender was strictly interested in business or not, but I figured I'd give it a go. The coffee shop where we were going to meet was closing by the time I got out of work, so we headed down to Cafe Gutenberg instead. It was half price wine night (which is the only day you should even get wine there, because all but the house wine is marked up so high it's ridic), so instead of coffee, we had to say yes to wine.
We brainstormed lots of great ideas about future Barista Jams and other coffee related things, but then got off on personal tangents too. Conversation flowed easily and after 3 hours, we finally parted, since it was a school night and all. I had quite a high after that, and I can't tell if it was just the wine talking. Either way, I'm always glad when meetings are both productive and interesting.

Internet love hate
Why do you keep offering yourself to me, little "remember password" button if you will not actually do your job? Every time, I check you, on various sites, you are everywhere, but never do you keep your promises.
Great, and my work computer has a Trojan. Just got another little Auto-Protect diaglog just now with more problematic issues. What is it about sites I go to that keeps getting me a Trojan? I think I may have to blame my Bloglines (or TweetDeck). But No, I cannot give up either!
Also, what is it about Windows\system\32 that likes to get infected?
The word of the day is: canoodle. One should use that word more often. I should also do it more often, but alas, being flu-y, and hack-y and sickly does not lead to candoodling. I am in withdrawal.
Is it tonight yet? Work is just slow and nothing important is happening and is in the way of my great evening. Photoshoot with PunchPhoto tonight (who I haven't actually met but has an office next to an old professor and good friend of mine-small world!) and then rushing to SMCRVA. I hate to be late, but this is the second time I've rescheduled this photoshoot.

Almost-words
I always enjoy when the "prove you're not a spam bot and type in this word" are fun, almost-words. I just got snesstess. I think I'm going to collect them and post them here. I collect words. I'm a nerd, I know. If you like that, then check out my Wordie list.
I remember I dated a guy who was being petulant, and I told him so, and he didn't know what it meant. Should have known it wouldn't work out right then. He was an educated guy, too. I suppose that doesn't really mean anything though, because there are lots of dumb, educated people out there. Like the time I found out a highly educated person I know didn't believe in evolution. I tripped all over myself putting my foot in my mouth because I didn't know how to respond to that.
I'm generally bad at the Favorites game (though I do like to play) because I can never pick just one. So as I'm scanning my Wordie list here, I'm just going to post some that I like and don't use that often. Points to you if you know them without looking them up. Ha, fuliginous even daunts Blogger's spellcheck.
